Ducking the Ropes – Episode 2: Two Feet and a Heartbeat

Ducking the ropes has always been Mark Abma’s thing — his need to know, to want to explore around the next bend, to take on new terrain, and carving his own path has been a defining aspect of his career. Now, as he sets his sights on Mount Garibaldi, the importance of carving his own path — and making sure it’s the right path — has never been clearer.

For this challenge, Abma is going to conquer Mount Garibaldi using only his own energy — he’s going to bike to the base of the mountain, hike to the top of the mountain, and ski his way back down. No vehicles, no shortcuts, just two feet and a heartbeat. It is an incredible challenge and a daunting display of physical and mental prowess. According to Abma, that’s one of the reasons he’s so “stoked" for the journey.

So how do you even approach such a challenge? Watch episode two now!
