Five Ways to Be Calm and Confident Every Day

Five Ways to Be Calm and Confident Every Day

No matter what today is bringing you, be it stepping up to home plate, an event to speak at publicly, a new workout routine, or ranked play online, calmness and confidence are your strongest available weapons. Learning how to be calm and confident is a skill that can change your life, but it’s much easier said than done. That’s why we want to offer five ideas to make these feelings a bit easier to achieve in your everyday living.

Before we get into that though, all of these steps can be more beneficial if you wear a smart compression sleeve on your arm when you perform them; these sleeves are non-invasive, non-electric aids that naturally increase your brain’s ability to focus while lowering stress. You can learn more about them here!

How to Be Calm and Confident: Our Five Ideas:

  1. Relax your body. Practice techniques like meditative breathing or progressive relaxation to help your body de-stress – a happy body is a much better place for a stressed mind. Eating healthy and often (but not too often) can be a big help here too!
  2. Relax your mind. This is something that comes with practice. Practice your game, your speech, your ideas, your whole day, even – but the more you can convince yourself that you can do it, the more confident you’ll be when your time comes.
  3. Remind yourself why you are here. Whatever you’re doing that you need to be confident for, there’s a reason you started it in the first place. Maybe there’s a reward at the end of the journey, or maybe it was fun when the stakes weren’t as high – remind yourself of the good involved so the bad doesn’t seem so dominant.
  4. Find the fun side. Having fun is the best answer to how to remain calm and confident – if you’re having fun, it’s hard to feel stressed! There’s always a fun side; sometimes it just takes a little thinking to find it.
  5. Focus on the task at hand. Try to focus as strongly as possible on what you need to get done. Distractions are definitely the enemy of mental calm. Practicing can be a big help here too! You will find your confidence as you focus on what is happening and how well you are doing in the moment.
